Here's another excellent dance move from Rockin' Nagambie

Adding new moves to your dance routine is always fun to do.

It's not that we get bored with the same old moves. We definitely don't. Yet, there's a compulsion when we see a couple perform a move we've never seen before to copy and master it ourselves. That's provided it's a move that looks good. Some really don't.

This move is a variation on a type of move that I call a peek-a-boo, but more complex. It not only looks good, it's fun to perform. One of the really big pluses of this dance move and others that are similar is that it's not just the man twirling the lady around. He gets mobile also.

This is where a man's skills at leading are really important. He may be in the lead role, but with this type of move he needs to also be good at following the lady. He must work in well with her to keep the routine properly coordinated. He can't afford to be rough or overpowered or this just isn't going to work.

For that reason, I taught a lot of this type of dance move at my own classes. They are excellent for broadening dancers skills, which can be a big advantage for couples who want branch out into other genres.

Learning them from videos can be quite challenging, but in this video Chris and Christine make a very good job of demonstrating in way that allows the student to see clearly what is required and how to perform the routine themselves. While many of us are still under restrictions, this is an excellent way to keep our skills sharp and our repertoires expanding.
